Intercity Technology is an award-winning leading Technology Services Provider based in Birmingham. This KTP aligns with Intercity’s strategic aim to position the business as thought leaders in the sector, by embedding knowledge in the business to ensure a legacy capability that will ensure continued development of their offers.
This KTP is a great opportunity for someone who wishes to become a business change consultant/manager. You will work with senior University academics on a commercial project which puts theory and modelling into practice.
Candidate Profile: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Data Science, or a related field, with a focus on AI and machine learning.
Skills/ experience required include:
Technical knowledge of AI and machine learning
Proficiency in data pre-processing and analysis
Familiarity with AI/ML platforms and libraries (such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Azure) and integrating AI solutions into existing systems
Proficiency with programming languages, such as python, Java, JavaScript, or C++
Some experience with generative AI models
Knowledge/skills of project management methodologies
Demonstrated ability in working within multidisciplinary teams
Main responsibilities:
The KTP will exploit innovation opportunities presented by Artificial Intelligence to create a bespoke tool for the delivery of cyber resilience solutions based on Intercity’s award-winning CAF, to create CAFAI within an AI-enabled cybersecurity solutions landscape.
Develop a CAFAI Digital Resilience generative AI data model
Contribute to the wider development of an AI-confident and AI-enabled business environment, integrating CAFAI into Intercity’s business operations
Working with Intercity’s Director of AI Practice to add expertise and knowledge to Intercity’s approach to AI implementation and AI-driven business change
Evaluate CAFAI impact and efficiency
Identify and address ethical and societal considerations

Strong interpersonal skills.
Strong communication and presentation skills. The ability to work within a cross-disciplinary project team
Leadership and maturity of communication and organisation skills to deliver the KTP project and ensure it achieves agreed milestones and objectives
Ability to work independently and use initiative
Strong desire to pursue innovative approaches and pathways
Ability to work closely with all stakeholders and establish an effective knowledge transfer process in the company

Aston University: You will work in a project team with Dr Laura Di Chiacchio, Dr Asma Patel and Professor Alexeis Garcia Perez from Aston University and the Senior Management Team at Intercity Technology with the support of the IUK’s Knowledge Transfer Adviser.
Location: You will be based predominantly at Intercity Technology in Birmingham. You will also have access to facilities at Aston University in central Birmingham. Some travel to key clients may also be required.
