About the Role
The department of Social Work and Wellbeing is a well-established and successful team within the Faculty of Health, Social Care and Medicine. The current portfolio of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes have experienced a growth in popularity over recent years, reflected in an increase in applications. These are contemporary and exciting programmes which aim to develop graduates who are highly employable and well equipped to work in the field of health and social care.

The department is dynamic, forward thinking, innovative and research active with a variety of programmes on offer. Our suite of programmes offer diverse opportunities for our students, whilst the diverse backgrounds of the academic team complement each other, leading to a collaborative and academically stimulating learning environment for both students and staff.

We are seeking to appoint a skilled and resourceful individual who can operate as a personal assistant for one of our University Lecturers who has ADHD. This role involves providing invaluable support in managing the demands of academic life whilst navigating the unique challenges which ADHD can present. By offering tailored assistance and crucially, understanding, they can help to optimise the productivity, effectiveness and wellbeing of our lecturer. In doing so, this also contributes to the wellbeing and success of our students within the faculty.

About You
As a Support Worker, you will have:

Skills in adaptability and flexibility alongside strong people skills
Ability to adapt to changing needs and priorities to help troubleshoot problems and work with our staff members to find creative solutions to challenges as they arise
Experience of ADHD coaching and working in an educational environment
Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Empathy, patience and a desire to help ADHD individuals succeed
