Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an appropriately trained Registered Nurse Associate to join our team at the Cataract Centre ,based at Withington Community Hospital in West Didsbury, Manchester. We are a bespoke Satellite clinic of the prestigious Manchester Royal Eye Hospital ,Nationally renown for its Progressive and innovative developments in Ophthalmology. The hospital undertakes many innovative research work and is renown for its successes in the world of Ophthalmology.
You will be expected to undertake many activities within the department to help with the successful planning running and enhancement pf patient experience when visiting department
Circulating Practitioner in the Cataract LA theatre
LA support for patients undergoing Cataract LA surgery
Baseline Observations, BP, Pulse, Respirations , Temperature. Know parameters of what is considered normal and act on them.
Undertake comprehensive Nursing Assessment and act on findings
Use HIVE and ensure that the correct information is available to ensure patient safety is not compromised
Undertake Ophthalmic Biometry to enable decision as to the right implant required for surgery
Undertake OCT scanning
