The Role:
As an Official Veterinarian, you will play a crucial role in the Port Health Service, where you will oversee and enforce compliance with European legislation concerning imported food and products of animal origin. You will be responsible for:

Developing and delivering training programs for veterinary students.
Leading audits and contributing to policy development.
Managing high-pressure situations with tight deadlines in a dynamic commercial environment.
This position requires someone who is highly knowledgeable in European legislation, particularly in relation to public and animal protection. You will also need to be proactive in identifying operational issues with strategic implications and have the ability to work independently, often in challenging outdoor conditions.

Requirements:
Advanced knowledge of European legislation governing imported food controls.
Experience in the practical application of these controls.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to provide detailed technical advice.
Experience in training and development, particularly within a veterinary or environmental health context.
