Summary


The post holder will be responsible for the provision of patient-focused care, working autonomously and in collaboration with the IBD Multidisciplinary team to ensure the IBD service maintains consistently high-quality care. This role supports patients on biologics to ensure timely treatment and patients are having appropriate blood monitoring. This includes ensuring funding and Blueteq applications are in place.


• Provide advice, information and support for patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease
• Manage and organise inflammatory Bowel Disease patients receiving anti-TNF treatments and iron infusions.
• Undertake clinical administration work to arrange infusion-based treatments, including interpreting blood results.
• Assess patients when they attend the Medical Day Unit for infusion
• Administer intravenous infusion
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, using specialist knowledge to educate, inform, and support patients and their families with IBD.
• Provide cover for the telephone advice line giving telephone advice to patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease.
• Work collaboratively with members of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease multi-disciplinary Team to provide a comprehensive patient-focused service.
