Askham Bryan College is a specialist land-based college based across the North of England with centres in York, Middlesbrough, Saltaire, Wakefield and Newcastle.
We offer a wide-ranging curriculum to our Further Education students, including Arboriculture, Horticulture, Agriculture, Animal Management, Countryside and the Environment, Engineering, Equine, Floristry, Motorsport, Professional Tree Surgery, Outdoor Adventure Sport, Sports Development, Coaching and Fitness and Uniformed Public Services.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Curriculum Team Leader to join our Adult and Future skills Team at our York campus. This role will be working full time, 37 hours per week.
We are seeking an individual who will be responsible for
all operational matters within the designated curriculum area. You will work with the Head of Adult and Future Skills to ensure that the curriculum meets the needs of students, business, and the community.
As a manager leading a curriculum area you will provide inspirational leadership for staff and students, embedding the college DNA in all you do. Sector experience and knowledge specifically in Post 16 setting will be beneficial.
The successful candidate will work with direct reports and other curriculum colleagues to promote and ensure that all safeguarding requirements as outlined in the college safeguarding policy and associated procedures are fully embedded in the curriculum area, to safeguard and protect the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults.
You will deliver a minimum of 500hrs teaching and/or cover/training/assessing and associated duties as agreed and approved by the Head of Adult and Future Skills.
Support the Head of Adult and Future skills in developing and resourcing the curriculum in line with college strategy,
vision, and the curriculum plan, contributing to the design and planning of programmes of study, including sequencing of learning, timetabling, and selecting appropriate qualification pathways.
Support the Head of Adult and Future Skills in the full and consistent implementation of all the college Quality Assurance processes, and to support planning of on-going quality improvements that will result in the highest standards of student attendance, retention, completion, achievement, and progression. This includes supporting completion of the curriculum area QIP (Quality Improvement Plan), SAR (Self-Assessment Report) and Performance Review processes.
Educated to degree level or above in a relevant subject, candidates should hold a teaching qualification.
