Do you want the opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of a busy Creative and Performing Arts department?
Are you looking for flexibility from a part time role, working only during term time? Barnsley College has an opportunity for a Fashion Technician to support us during a Maternity cover contract, working 4 days per week in our Digital and Creative Industries department. In this role, you will work alongside an amazing teaching team and provide technical support to staff and students on the Level 2 and T Level Fashion courses.

Fashion Technician

Maternity Cover / Term time only - 30 hours per week
£22,879 pro rata (£15,585 per annum)
We are looking for a proactive Fashion Technician with a creative flair and passion for their subject. This post requires an excellent communicator who can build rapport quickly and who is comfortable in working with young people. A vast working knowledge of pattern terminology, as well as the ability to carry out basic machine maintenance and understanding how garment components fit together is essential. This includes maintaining the design, pattern cutting and sewing rooms, checking stock levels and preparing teaching materials.
A background in fashion textiles and costume design are highly desirable. If you have a relevant qualification in these subjects or previous industry experience, we welcome your application. No matter your level of experience, training and support will be provided by fellow teaching staff and managers.
