Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant Applied Psychologist to join our Older Adults Community Mental Health Services in Doncaster.
This post offers a great opportunity for an experienced senior psychologist whose core values are to place patients at the centre of all learning and ensure approaches to staff wellbeing and development are compassionate and high quality.
Our older adult service includes a team of psychologists working across the Memory, Young Onset Dementia, Community Mental Health and Care Home Liaison Teams. We also have an inpatient mental health units based at Tickhill Road site Doncaster, with dedicated psychology input and leadership.
The role requires a leader who is innovative and personally motivated to work with other senior clinicians and managers to deliver high quality care to older people with complex mental illnesses and dementia, as part of a multi-professional leadership team.
CPD and engagement with our wider professional networks is supported. The contributions of clinicians are valued and sought in influencing the direction of the service and leadership on relevant projects is encouraged. We have strong links to the Sheffield Clinical Psychology Doctorate. Clinical Supervision will be provided by the Trust Lead Psychologist for Older Adults / Care Group Director for Psychological Professions.
The post-holder will be responsible for clinically leading and helping to shape psychological services for older people in the Community Mental Health Directorate within Doncaster.
As a senior psychological professional across the older adult community pathways, the post holder will provide clinical leadership and direction in the continual development and provision of excellence in psychologically informed interventions throughout.
They would be expected to work with other senior leads for older adult services to contribute to the wider clinical effectiveness and governance agenda.
The post holder will be accountable for their own professional practice in the delivery of highly specialist psychological care to clients within their clinical area of expertise.
The post holder will take a lead role in providing highly specialist psychological advice, guidance and consultation to other staff contributing directly to client’s diagnosis, formulation and intervention plan.
The post-holder will provide supervision and will lead a team of psychological professionals working closely with other care group and across Trust specialists.
Should the successful candidate be required to relocate in order to accept this position, they may be eligible for reimbursement of relocation/ removal expenses.
