**Position Type:** Temporary, Monday-Friday
**Salary:** £11.44 per hour
**Reports To:** Facility Manager/Supervisor
#### Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Temporary School Cleaner to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of the school premises, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for students, staff, and visitors.
#### Key Responsibilities
- **Daily Cleaning Tasks:**
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum classrooms, hallways, and other common areas.
- Empty and sanitize trash bins and replace liners.
- Clean and disinfect restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and mirrors.
- Dust and wipe down surfaces, including desks, chairs, tables, and countertops.
- Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors.
- **Weekly Cleaning Tasks:**
- Deep clean carpets and rugs.
- Polish wooden surfaces and furniture.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen areas, including sinks, countertops, and appliances.
- Disinfect high-touch areas such as door handles, light switches, and railings.
- **Additional Duties:**
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor.
- Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies, ensuring they are used safely and stored properly.
- Follow all school policies and procedures regarding health and safety regulations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
#### Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in school or commercial cleaning is an advantage.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, proper storage, and disposal methods.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and a high standard of cleanliness.
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy objects.
#### Skills
- Time management and organizational skills.
- Basic understanding of safety and health regulations.
- Effective communication skills.
- Reliability and punctuality.
#### Working Conditions
- The position requires working early mornings or afternoons, Monday to Friday.
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals and solvents.
- Physically demanding tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
