As the Head of Sustainability, you will drive the Energy Customer Solutions sustainability narrative, roadmap, and awareness program. Ensuring the Net Zero Action Plan (NZAP) is part of the ECS strategy, aligning with SSE's broader ambitions. You will lead sustainability delivery and implementation plans to ensure long-term business success. As part of your role you will:

- Lead cross-company sustainability strategy, narrative, and data-gathering activities.

- Create and implement carbon reduction and net-zero initiatives for ECS.

- Work closely with colleagues and key supply chain partners to embed SSE carbon and climate commitments.

- Provide insights into international, UK, and Irish policy developments to ECS leadership.

- Scan evolving business landscapes to recommend sustainable actions for Future Energy Market.

- Work with the strategic risk team to manage risk profile changes and identify opportunities.

- Undertake research, analysis, and support to the wider Sustainability and Strategy team.

- Lead the ECS Sustainability Committee and contribute to Financial and Sustainability Annual Reports.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Proven experience in sustainability leadership and managing large sustainability programs.

- In-depth knowledge of sustainable science-based targets, carbon assessment, and decarbonization practices.

- Ability to collaborate and influence internal and external stakeholders effectively.

- Strong strategic thinking and understanding of business strategy with experience of researching markets to identify new opportunities.

- Excellent leadership capabilities to lead cross-functional teams and committee.
