We are looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate and motivated individual, to take on an exciting opportunity in the role Specialist Support worker as Maternity Cover on a fixed term basis. The individual’s will be based at Eva Burrows 1st Stop Project. This is a partnership with South Lanarkshire Council and as part of this project we are looking to recruit members of staff from our external candidates and/or existing teams to support the work of the Housing First Team and help us to develop and grow housing first. Housing First is a new approach to supporting the most excluded and hard to reach rough sleepers. It focuses on finding permanent housing as quickly as possible and then addressing the issues that have contributed to an individual’s homelessness. Rather than follow normal routes of emergency accommodation to supported and temporary accommodation, Housing First offers people their own home and then gives them the intensive support needed to maintain their tenancies and move on with their lives away from the streets.

Improve Access to Health and Social Care Services
You will be responsible for the day to day delivery of the service, managing a caseload of clients with the overall goal of supporting them to access Health and Social Care Services, maintaining appointments and reducing the use of Out of Hours Services
Provide tailored support to those using the service to meet individual need and aspiration, with people being able to choose, as far as possible, what, how and when support is delivered.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in an innovative, sector-leading, and uniquely collaborative way of working with our partners. To succeed you will need to have the ability to work independently and be comfortable as a lone worker, when required, with a good knowledge of the relevant protocols and safety precautions. You’ll be able to maintain enthusiasm for working with people with complex needs and provide the consistently high levels of support they require to meet their aims and objectives.
The successful candidate(s) will be able to demonstrate and/ or hold:

Level 3 qualification or equivalent in a related field or be willing to work towards
Experience of working with vulnerable clients in programme area associated with the specialism
Knowledge of the benefit system and an understanding of supported housing funding streams and reporting requirements
Full Driving Licence


Appointment subject to satisfactory references, PVG scheme disclosure check. All new employees must register with SSSC within 3 months of appointment. And proof of right to work in the UK
