We are excited to announce that we are working with Bury Council and housing partners on an exciting new scheme which will open in August 2024. Currently known as St Marys, a beautiful property in the centre of Bury comprising of 8 self-contained flats will be renamed by the first tenants of the scheme.

St Mary’s is designed to support young adults aged 18-25 with mild learning disability and/or autism and to support the development to independence for a maximum of two years, after which individuals will be supported to live a fulfilling life in the community.

We are looking for people who are passionate about supporting young adults on their journey to independence.

Previous experience of working with people with a learning disability and/or autism is not essential as you will be supported with training and learning opportunities relevant to the role. What is important is that you share our values and that you want to see people be the best that they can be.

About the role
You will work flexibly as part of a team on a rota basis, your approach will be to facilitate and enable learning which builds individual confidence and life skills, developing appropriate relationships with the young adults, their families and wider professionals whilst maintaining a supportive approach to each young adult.

Depending on the needs of the young adults within the service, there may also be some support with personal care such as supporting with medication.
