Job Description

Requirements
Exciting opportunities have arisen in South Lanarkshire Justice Social Work for Team Leaders. We have four full time, permanent Team Leader vacancies in Justice Localities and the Unpaid Work Service. We are looking for skilled and motivated Team Leaders with recent experience of Justice Social Work and a wider knowledge of issues around the strategic Justice Social Work environment.
There are three posts available in locality teams – Hamilton, Lanark and Cambuslang/Rutherglen – and in our Unpaid Work service. Preferences for different placements can be discussed at interview and a final decision will be taken thereafter and communicated to successful candidates. The post holder will be expected to maintain the high standard of service already established; to further develop the potential of the teams; take a lead role in the development of Justice Services and be accountable for team performance. These are varied, challenging and rewarding posts involving managing qualified and para-professional social work staff; allocation and monitoring of work within teams; chairing reviews and planning meetings up to and including MAPPA 1 level; maintaining Key Performance Indicators (KPIs); liaising with the wider service and partner agencies and promoting good practice within the team and wider service.
The successful candidate must hold a degree level qualification in Social Work or equivalent. The post requires the successful candidate to be SSSC registered. The successful applicant would be required to undertaken Non Personal Police Vetting level 2 as part of a requirement to use ViSOR. Responsibilities
ViSOR Vetting
South Lanarkshire Justice Services require all successful applicants to undertake Non-Police Personnel Vetting (NPPV) at a minimum of level 2. This is due to the requirement to access the Violent and Sex Offender Register (ViSOR ) information system.
Foreign Police Check
Candidates should be able to detail any gaps in employment and provide a foreign police check where applicable for any periods living or working abroad.
Legislative Information
This post is excepted in terms of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 2003.
Regulated Work with Protected Adults
This post is considered Regulated Work with Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2007. Therefore, it is an offence to apply if you are barred from working with protected adults.
Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made by South Lanarkshire Council.
