An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and committed individual to join the Salvation Army Debt Advice Team. We are looking to recruit a Debt Advice Case Worker to support the increasing number of people struggling with debt seeking advice from our service.
This is a peripatetic home-based role and the majority of clients will be supported over the telephone. There will be a requirement to occasionally travel to multiple Salvation Army centres to meet clients when there are specific circumstances where a face-to-face meeting will be required. The successful candidate will need to be able to attend departmental meetings at our head office in London or another designated Salvation Army centre.
Key Responsibilities:
Supported by the Salvation Army’s national Financial Inclusion Development and Quality managers, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing a case load of clients supporting them in finding a debt solution whilst providing financial capability sessions.
You will be responsible for managing the risk to the Salvation Army Service by ensuring your case work meets all regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate will have a generalist debt adviser qualification or able to complete this qualification within probation period of 6 months. Advisory experience is essential. You will need to be able to work on your own initiative and in a team. Effective writing skills with emphasis on preparing reviews, reports and correspondence. Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence others and develop effective working relationships with colleagues, clients and external stakeholders.
