We are excited to be seeking an enthusiastic trainee medical photographer to join our busy three site department.

As a trainee medical photographer you will have the opportunity to train in all aspects of the profession, developing a wide range of specialist photographic skills and being supported as you work towards a recognised professional qualification.

The Medical Photography and Video service for Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust is an evolving service that is rapidly growing to meet the changing needs of its patients and clinicians.

The Trust comprises of three main hospitals; High Wycombe, Amersham and Stoke Mandeville with each site requiring skill and expertise in different specialties including (but not limited to) orthodontics, dermatology, plastics, spinal injuries and ENT. In addition, we also offer a limited service to our colleagues and patients in the community.

The posts offered will be primarily based at Amersham Hospital, where you will be supported by the Medical Photography and Video team. The post will, however, require the post holder to work at any of the Trusts three main sites.

All posts offer the opportunity to undertake the training and qualifications required to become a professional medical photographer and to be eligible for professional registration.
• Responsible for undertaking training in all aspects of clinical photography for diagnosis, case records, education, research and publication across a wide range of specialities and disciplines.
• To train in the provision of a general photographic support service for patient information, research, publication, education and public relations.
• To undertake all training and teaching relating to the role of a medical photographer within an acute hospital environment. To shadow and observe the work of the qualified medical photographers and to be actively engaged in the learning process.
• To enrol upon, undertake and complete a recognised post graduate course relating specifically to Medical Photography. To complete all modules and assignments related to this course and to complete all with a pass grade.
• To undertake all training courses assigned both internally and externally.
• To represent the department when visiting other departments for training and placement experience.
