Purpose of the Job

As a Driver Operations Manager, you will oversee the end-to-end driver processes, staff recruitment, and daily management of resources. Your role is crucial in maintaining BCA Logistics' service performance and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

1. Drive Operational Excellence:


Manage the Driver Operations contact centre, analysing call handling and continuously improving processes.
Develop innovative IT solutions to reduce telephone traffic between Control and Drivers, enhancing efficiency.


2. Leadership & Development:


Provide strong leadership, support, and motivation to all control staff and employed drivers.
Ensure all department staff receive relevant training and development, fostering a culture of performance and growth.


3. Resource Management:


Optimise resource availability through effective monitoring and communication using the Driver Management system.
Collaborate with various departments to resolve driver issues and ensure the effective issuance and collection of equipment.


4. Performance & Cost Management:


Achieve performance targets in line with KPIs and budget, developing initiatives to minimise costs while maximising service performance.
Work closely with the Planning Department to ensure the best utilisation of self-employed, employed, and agency resources.


5. Communication & Quality Assurance:


Develop mechanisms for team meetings and manage the driver communication process to keep field-based resources informed.
Adhere to the Quality Management System, regularly reviewing and refining processes to support business quality reviews and audits.


6. Additional Responsibilities:


Undertake any other reasonable duties within your skill capability as needed.
