Working: Monday to Saturday - shift will be either 8.00am - 4.30pm or 11.00am - 7.30pm
Term Time ** Equated on 40 hours per week.
This role requires own transport due to location

Job Introduction
As Kitchen Assistant for Independents by Sodexo at Hurstpierpoint College, you will be a key part of the kitchen team. You'll be responsible for maintaining exceptional standards of cleanliness within the kitchen and food & beverage preparation areas. Your cheerful, can-do attitude will make you a major part of the everyone's every day.

What you’ll do:

Washing all crockery, cutlery, kitchen utensils and equipment, food service equipment.
Ensuring that the following are kept clean and tidy and to a very high standard:
Floors & Walls, Bins – inside and out, Crushing and disposal of cardboard and boxes, Fridges & Freezers (with assistance of chefs), Delivery areas.
Maintain cleanliness and safety of working areas.
To be aware of and to adhere to all health and safety, fire, hygiene and COSHH regulations governing the work you are undertaking and to ensure the correct chemicals/detergents are always used.
Report all accidents (and near misses) to the Chef.
To report any shortages in equipment or chemicals to the Supervisor
What you bring:

Positive attitude, professionalism, and respect for others
Basic food-handling skills
Be physically able to lift heavy items and work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours)
No previous work experience required.
