Job Description
Glasgow City Council is seeking to recruit a permanent ICT Service Management and Operations Manager within its Strategic Information, Innovation and Technology Team. The Council’s digital and ICT services are currently provided by a single external provider. From April 2025, the Council will transition to a multi-source model where multiple organisations will deliver specific service towers. A new Service Integration and Management (SIAM) function is being established within the Council to manage and assure this multi-source model and a new role of ICT Service Management and Operations Manager has been created. The SIAM function and capability will evolve over time as the Council transitions to multi-source. From April 2025, it is expected that the Council’s primary ICT service provider will perform the overall Service Management/ SIAM function, alongside a ‘soft launch’ of the Council’s SIAM function. As this develops and additional service providers are onboarded, it is expected that the SIAM will mature and expand. This new post will will lead and influence the establishment, development and operation of the Council’s SIAM function, including the implementation of the full suite of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) SIAM practices and processes. This is an excellent opportunity for the right person to to be involved in a diverse range of work in a complex organisation. Hybrid working is available in this role.
