Consultant in Diabetes, Endocrinology and General Internal MedicineAnnual Salary Range : £89,532 - £99,532 Are you an experienced Consultant specialising in diabetes, looking to work for the NHS? Doctors Gateway, in collaboration with Gateway Partner NHS Trusts, is recruiting Consultants specialising in General Internal Medicine (GIM) with a focus on developing diabetes services (including technologies and antenatal care). This position based at the Stockport NHS Foundation Trust in the North of England. Through our innovative Doctors Gateway Plus Programme, you'll have the opportunity to enhance your skills and gain new, relevant experience by working at an appropriate grade within the renowned National Health Service (NHS) healthcare system. About the role: As a Consultant in diabetes at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust, you will be responsible for developing the Diabetes Technologies Service and enhancing the quality of Antenatal Diabetes care. Additionally, you will lead the Lipid Service with support from a Biochemist and a Specialist Pharmacist. Some duties may involve: Provide specialist in reach to the Acute Medical Unit (ACU) and see diabetes and endocrinology in patient referrals. Provide diabetes advice and clinical care to the diabetes antenatal service. Mentor and supervise the training of junior medical staff on the team in conjunction with the other consultant physicians in the department. Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP). Relevant certificate of completion of training (CCT) in General Internal Medicine, Diabetes and Endocrinology, or equivalent. A broad training which demonstrates appropriate experience in and a positive attitude towards Diabetes and Endocrinology. Ability to form good professional relationships with all departments and work as part of a multidisciplinary team. Authorisation to live and work in the UK. Experience of supervision of junior medical staff and relevant staff in other disciplines staff. A full, clean driving licence.
