Summary

As an equipment maintenance assistant you will be responsible for the set up and maintenance of the training equipment used in Fire Service training at the college.

This role will involve an element of shift work - earliest start 7am, latest finish 5.30pm, Monday to Friday.

What you'll be doing:

• Cleaning and servicing of fire training equipment
• Setting up all types of training exercises and clearing away of the resultant debris.
• Housekeeping and undertaking minor maintenance in training venues
• General driving duties, both on and off-site, to include delivery and collection of fire appliances and other vehicles.
• Routine minor repairs, servicing and cleaning of all firefighting and rescue equipment, maintaining records of all test and maintenance carried out.
• Assisting generally, as required, on practical training exercises.
• Proactively assisting in managing the Operational Support areas, maintaining the building and site general cleanliness.

• Flexible, adaptable and shows willingness to carry out a wide variety of tasks
• Shows initiative and can self motivate
• A passion for work
• Basic IT skills
• Ability to drive, but not essential
• Counterbalance forklift qualified (or willing to be trained), would be beneficial
