Management Accountant
During a period of exciting change for the finance team at the GMC, with the introduction of a new system, we require additional support for a three-year fixed term within our management accounting team.
Monitoring, reporting and advising on financial performance, you'll be instrumental in maintaining the financial stability of an organisation that is at the heart of UK medical standards and practice.
Summary of the role and main responsibilities
- Providing financial advice and support to one or more of our directorates. This will include preparing the annual budget, monthly management accounts, full year forecasts and supporting with investment appraisals.
- You will monitor financial performance by reviewing variances and analyse trends, and you will support budget holders in maintaining spend in line with budget.
- Actively supporting managers in developing business improvements, including investment opportunities and efficiency savings.
The role is hybrid with up to 1 day in the office alongside the wider finance team. This will be flexed as required to support a period of induction and where necessary e.g team meetings.
What are we looking for?
- Someone with excellent interpersonal skills will thrive in this role. A focus on building relationships to support and influence budget owners in their decision-making capacity is essential for success.
- A resourceful individual capable of collating information from across the organisation, to produce clear financial analysis and advice for budget holders. Ultimately ensuring resources available are maximised to deliver on the corporate strategy.
- A strong track record within a management accounting function, having previously performed a similar role, and full membership of a recognised UK accounting body.
