Do you offer excellent administrative, organisational and problem-solving skills?

Join the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) as a Team Coordinator, develop yourself, and your future career. You can play a key role coordinating the work of our Advocacy, Public Policy and International team, where the work is extremely varied and is continuing to evolve to make a real impact on millions of people’s lives.

About the CMA

We help people, businesses, and the UK economy by promoting competitive markets and tackling unfair behaviour. Our work is wide ranging, ambitious and often new and challenging.

The Advocacy, Public Policy and International team provides advice to the government on policy and regulation, the CMA’s engagement with regulators and elected representatives across the UK and manages CMA international relations.

What you will do

You will provide support to the Advocacy, Public Policy and International management team and the wider team across the CMA’s offices in each of the four nations of the UK.

Your key responsibilities will include supporting team management, external stakeholder engagement and tracking our portfolio of work.

This will involve:

Working on team management activities and administrative tasks, including budget-setting and monitoring, business continuity planning, managing the team SharePoint area and intranet

Meeting management, including scheduling meetings, booking rooms, producing agendas, and minuting meetings as required

Collecting and maintaining key management information, including the team’s portfolio of work

Stakeholder engagement support across the whole of the UK, including arranging meetings, sending key announcements, and keeping stakeholder lists updated

Supporting wider teamwork across the UK to ensure consistent external engagement

In helping to drive the team forward, you will be collaborating with, and learning from, some of the finest minds in the competition and consumer protection world.

What you will need

You will need excellent project management skills, including the ability to maintain records, files and databases, in addition to excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate with a wide range of people, both orally and in writing.

Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build solid, collaborative relationships with colleagues are essential.

Problem solving skills, including the ability to decide on the best solution with confidence is equally important.

You will also need to be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

What we can offer you

In return the CMA is a hugely diverse, rewarding and stimulating place to work – an opportunity to work for the public good and to stretch and develop yourself in doing so. We offer generous benefits, including an excellent pension scheme, at least 25 days leave (increasing to 30 over five years), and generous maternity/paternity leave provision. You can also take advantage of interest-free season ticket loans, a cycle to work scheme, our employee assistance programme and flexible working options.
