We are looking for a Band 6 Specialist Practice Nurse for a Locum position with the Ministry of Defence (MoD) at Episkopi Medical Centre, in Episkopi, Cyprus. The position would be onsite, within the Medical Centre on the base.
The successful candidate will:
- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, under the Defence Primary Healthcare (DPHC) organisation, delivering Primary Health Care (PHC) services and elements of Occupational Health and Health Promotion to service personnel and their dependents.
- Be responsible to the Senior Medical Officer / Lead Clinician / Senior Nurse and provide routine clinics as directed to meet the needs of the organisation and the PAR.
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate clinical care of patients in the provision of nurse led clinics, including communication with senior clinicians, outside agencies and disciplines as required.
- Maintain patient safety and support and promote healthcare governance activity.
- Undertake training and demonstrate competence to issue medications via Patient Group Directives (PGDs) and Patient Specific Directions (PSDs), in accordance with Joint Service Policy and as determined appropriate by the Senior Nurse / Lead Clinician.
Start date: ASAP
End date: 13/09/2024 (possible extension)
Hours: 38 hours per week
Essential requirements:
- Valid NMC registration.
- Must have a minimum of two years post-registration experience in Primary Healthcare practice.
- Hold clinical competencies such as Cervical Cytology, Travel Health, Venepuncture, Immunisations and Vaccinations.
All job placements are subject to the receipt of satisfactory compliance requirements and a current DBS.
Please note that MMP does not provide working visas, and you must possess valid leave to remain and have UK work experience.
