Summary

The main purpose of the post is to be responsible for managing the day to day running of the Welsh Government’s London office including providing primary operations management support in co-ordinating all client / government visitors to the office. Essentially ensuring the smooth operation of the meeting rooms, hot desk facilities (when requested) across all departments of Welsh Government. It is envisaged the post holder will be the primary point of contact for most external and internal customers and stakeholders.

Welsh Government London Office has a small client facing team and a varied scope of activities, the post is suitable for someone that is comfortable in a flexible, varied, high profile, client facing environment – the post will assist in linking activities across multiple government departments.

The role is key to the smooth operation and function of the London Office and will engage with the whole of the Welsh Government providing support as and when required to all Welsh Ministers, senior officials and all visiting WG colleagues across all portfolio areas when working in London.

Working within a flexible compact team in London the role leads on the operational aspects of the London office - there is periodical responsibility for supporting Wales’s promotional and marketing goals and ‘outreach’ activities.

An overall flexible approach to customer care, client support (including internal clients) policy co-ordination and flexible working patterns and teamwork is central to the role. The position suits a current team / people manager seeking wider / higher profile experience and ‘site’ responsibility.
