Building Surveyor - Bristol - £30,000 to £60,000 per annum dependent on experience

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting on behalf of their client who is a niche commercial property consultancy, consisting of surveyors and engineers specialising in providing advice to Commercial landlords and tenants throughout the UK. They have recently been awarded Best Multi-Tenanted Commercial Property Advisors - UK by Build Magazine.

They undertake surveys, prepare, serve and negotiate dilapidations claims, undertake project management and Principal Designer duties. Other services offered include, lease advice, condition surveys, service charge reviews, due diligence surveys, planned maintenance programmes and energy reviews. They pride themselves on the quality of their service to their clients and enjoy long term relationships with them.

Surveyors typically work in teams with other disciplines and in close contact with the client, advising them on technical, legal and financial matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To provide technical surveying support to the business, undertaking commissions on behalf of clients from inception to completion
  • Supporting business objectives of delivering value for money and professional services in all circumstances
  • To carry out assigned duties efficiently and in accordance with processes and procedures
  • Comply with established procurement/commercial/contractual strategies
  • Take personal responsibility for complying with Environmental, Health, Safety, Security and Quality Standards
  • Demonstrating high professional skills in: Project Management, Contract Administrator & Employer's Agent, Design & specification writing, PPM and asset condition schedules, Quality & Technical Monitoring, Defects Diagnosis, Dilapidations, Measured Surveys and Principal Designer

Person Specification:

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a positive proactive approach to the role, and will be committed to delivering customer service excellence, with good commercial results.

  • Degree qualified in Building Surveying or similar technical discipline
  • Previous experience in surveying commercial premises
  • Experience in CDM
  • Health & Safety experience or training
  • Strong technical delivery experience
  • Ability to successfully manage complex projects in a proactive and diligent manner
  • Excellent specification writing skills
  • Good understanding of JCT Contracts
  • Strong track record in project management of projects from inception to completion
  • Track record of working with disparate stakeholders
  • Client facing, ensuring a high standard of technical delivery
  • Able to build long-term relationships
  • Previously employment experience within a consultancy practice
  • A track record of working with teams and managing projects by prioritising workloads and delivering deadlines
