HR Transactional Operations Lead
Hybrid – Solihull (2 days per week)
Full Time, Permanent
£35,000
- £40,000 per annum plus benefits
Here at Serco, we are seeking a HR Transactional Operations Lead to join our People Services team to be responsible for all transactional operations activity across HR Helpdesk. You will lead the operational running of this service to meet service level requirements and KPIs, whilst delivering exceptional customer service. You’ll be responsible for relationship management of two separate legal entities (VIVO and CSL) that Serco provide HR shared service offering.
As our HR Transactional Operations Lead, you will deliver an operation aligned to a comprehensive medium-term and long-term business change agenda ensuring that the operation is maintained and exceeds desired targets; both financial, operational, and service.

- Manage the internal tier 1 UK HR Helpdesk for general HR queries and triage.
- Collaborate with other team leads to coordinate support within the separate functions of People Services.
- Ensure set objectives are met for the individual teams and the organisational unit, through regularly reviewing the status of key deliverables and implementing any follow up actions.
- Continuously monitor SLA/KPI performance and quality metrics (including ticket hygiene) for responsible areas and take remedial action where required to ensure performance/customer service standards are met.
- Provide supervisory support to ensure smooth delivery of service by monitoring the call board and ensuring resource levels are always maintained.
- Act as a point of escalation for the team/business when support is required for responsible areas.
- Coach team members to have an IDP in place that covers their development needs.
- Ensure wider team training/knowledge gaps are identified and a plan in place to resolve any barriers/issues.
- Owns HR Transactional Administrative Processes and reports; driving continuous improvement focus and spending time with key customers to ensure that these exceed requirements.
- Improving processed and team efficiency end to end through innovation and automation.
- Manage growth by delivering Target Operating Models For People Operations that provides an enhanced capability and service.
What you’ll need to do the role:
- Proven experience within HR transactional operations and leading HR projects and initiatives.
- Effective leadership skills and previous management experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and ability to build and maintain professional relationships with stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of SAP, SNOW, MyHR Online and Excel.
- Extensive experience leading HR projects and initiatives.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to develop innovate solutions.
- Customer focus with experience in delivering enhancements to customer service.
- A commercial and pragmatic approach to providing HR solutions.
- Ability to influence at all levels within the organisation including senior stakeholders.
