We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, self motivated Team Leader (maternity cover) to lead our established Executive Assistant and Complaints and Compliments teams.
This is a part-time, fixed term contract up to October 2025, with hybrid working, and a salary of £43,063 - 47,035 per annum, pro-rata based on 30 hours per week.
About us:
The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead (RBWM) is set in the wider county of Berkshire, one of the most economically productive and innovative areas of the country. The borough council – a unitary authority - takes pride in its exceptional team of dedicated professionals who are passionate about providing quality services to the community. RBWM is a unique borough, with huge opportunity given its proximity to London and expanding business sectors, as well as being a major cultural and tourism area which includes international attractions such as Windsor Castle, Legoland and Ascot Racecourse.
Given our Royal connections, the eyes of the world are often on us and we continue to rise to the challenge.
The Role:
The role reports to the Deputy Director of Law and Governance and is responsible for two distinct teams which work closely together, in a complex and fast paced environment. The Executive Assistants support the Executive Leadership Team in managing their time and priorities and the Complaints and Compliments team support the wider organisation in it’s management of informal, formal and statutory complaints, MP enquiries, compliments, code of conduct complaints and related enquiries.
The post holder will deal with a wide range of external and internal stakeholders, colleagues and customers so an exceptional level of communication skills, both verbal and written, and a positive, can-do approach is essential. The successful candidate will have highly developed interpersonal skills & the ability to deal with challenging situations with resilience, diplomacy and discretion whilst maintaining strict confidentiality.
Your role will involve:
Providing leadership, supervision and managerial support to two busy teams with a range of complex responsibilities.
Providing direct executive support to members of the Executive Leadership Team where required to cover leave, sickness or other urgent need.
Facilitation of designated internal meetings; maintaining forward plans, producing agendas, circulating papers and taking minutes/managing action trackers if required.
Managing the Council’s Spending Control Panel process via a CRM system and spreadsheets to ensure the smooth running of this key decision making board.
Overseeing the regular internal and formal annual reporting and analysis of complaints data; this will be prepared in different formats and styles for different audiences and requirements may evolve from one report to the next.
What we are looking for:
Proven experience of managing an administrative team.
First class I.T. skills which will enable you to support colleagues in utilising various technologies and resolve unexpected challenges.
The ability to manage yourself and others, meet deadlines, identify and set priorities; to use your own initiative, knowledge and experience to arrive at appropriate solutions to challenges.
Background or experience in an EA or PA role would be useful but not essential.
What we offer:
32 days annual leave
Flexible working including a hybrid working pattern for a better work-life balance.
Generous Local Government Pension scheme includes life cover (3 times of annual salary); and an Additional Voluntary Contribution (AVC) scheme to enhance your pension provision.
Free employee parking close to the offices.
Give As You Earn scheme.
Instant Reward Scheme to recognise and reward innovative achievement.
Employee Assistance Programme providing counselling, advice and information.
Access to discounts and deals with hundreds of retailers, including discounted gym memberships and travel deals.
RBWM values a collaborative and inclusive work environment, fostering creativity and innovation in all aspects of its operations. As an equal opportunities’ employer, we encourage applications from all as we believe diverse talent makes us stronger.
If you have a disability, are a current or former member of the armed forces or have been part of any formal care system up to the age of 25, you will be guaranteed an interview, should you meet the minimum requirements for the role.
