Summary
This role is P/T: Mon-Fri, 10am-2pm.
The position of Claims Assistant will involve general claims administration tasks. The position is to support the company Claims Adjusters, Claims Manager and Directors with any administrative and/or ad-hoc tasks.
Responsibilities include:
Case receipting incoming email via shared mailboxes.
Taking inbound calls; gathering First Notification of Loss (FNOL) details, handling queries and/or arranging call backs through our Voice Over IP (VoIP) telephone system.
Setting up new claims in the company bespoke Claims Management System (CMS).
Handling introductory emails to policy holders following FNOL.
Reviewing claims within our CMS to ensure they are in line with insurers SLA’s, updating status/file notes/reserves.
Emailing/calling Policy Holders and/or Brokers for outstanding documents/information to support/progress their claim.
Reviewing files on our CMS, ensuring MI has been recorded accurately (via a checklist) before closing.
Assisting with payments including but not limited to; Sanctions/Anti-Money Laundering checks, reviewing Discharge Forms, corresponding with Insurers and adding payment information into our CMS.
Assisting with the company internal invoicing processes.
Assisting the Claims Adjusters, Claims Manager and Company Directors with ad-hoc tasks.
Desirable skills:
Experience within the insurance industry.
Cert Cii qualifications are desirable but not essential.
A desire to want to train and progress in the insurance industry.
Computer literate with a good understanding/experience of MS Office programs and Adobe.
A professional telephone manner.
Strong customer service skills.
Good communication skills.
Able to follow instructions and work to deadlines.
A flexible and organised approach is advantageous as daily tasks can be varied.
Workplace and benefits:
Training will take place at our registered offices in Poole before moving to Hybrid working; time split between Working from Home (WFH) and our Poole office, in line with the rest of the team. The successful candidate must therefore be able to work independently and communicate well via internal messaging systems and video-cons (VC).
The WFH environment must allow the candidate to have adequate space to set up a company provided laptop, monitor, keyboard, mouse and phone head set to ensure efficient working. The environment must also be inbound call friendly with limited background noise and sufficient broadband strength to support VoIP.
The role is 20 hours per week; our business operates Monday-Thursday, 9am-5pm and Friday 9am-4pm. This vacancy is Monday-Friday, 10am-2pm.
