Summary

To provide clinical lead role for the Integrated Community Equipment Service (ICELS) and support the ICELS Partnership and Contracts Manager to deliver a high quality, person centred Integrated Community Equipment Service (ICELS) on behalf of all partners to the pooled fund agreement for the ICELS. Key Job Activities: % of Role Act as gatekeeper for approval of special and catalogue equipment orders and co-ordinate and lead special equipment review panels 25% Take the lead on ICELS training for prescribers and the development of policies and procedures that support equipment provision and safe use for the ICELS 10% Provide lead clinical liaison role with the equipment provider and health and social care staff across LLR. 15% Manage and maintain the refurbished specials stock, offering advice to professionals trying to identify suitable equipment and to assist with sourcing alternative equipment. 15% Attend and support the ICELS Adults and Children & Young Peoples Professional Advisory Groups. 10% Direct the work and provide support to other less senior clinical staff working with the ICELS. 5% Carry out reviews of equipment in the community beyond their loan period to include undertaking risk assessments for citizens who currently have equipment liaising with health and social care professionals, service users and their carers/relatives. 5% Put in place processes and procedures to enable the effective recycling and reuse of all specialist equipment including liaising with suppliers/manufacturers to achieve best value in provision of equipment. 5% Keep abreast of technical advances in the provision of new items of equipment designed to assist disabled adults/older people/children and young people and with developments in medical and paramedical techniques 5% Carry out other miscellaneous duties associated with the role 5%
