Job Description
Rutland County Council is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Highway Inspector to join our Engineering & Surveying team. This temporary position is critical to ensuring the safety and functionality of our road network, fulfilling our statutory duty, and upholding our Section 58 defense.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough inspections of the highway network.
Identify and report any defects or hazards in the roadways.
Ensure all inspections comply with statutory regulations and standards.
Maintain accurate and detailed records of all inspections and findings.
Coordinate with the maintenance team to address and rectify any identified issues.
Provide reports and recommendations to the management team.
Requirements:
Previous experience in highway inspection or a related field.
Strong attention to detail and excellent observational skills.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Good communication skills for reporting and liaising with team members and stakeholders.
Understanding of the statutory duties and regulations pertaining to highway inspections.
