We have an opportunity for a contract C & I Design Engineer for our client, a well-established engineering manufacturer in Leeds. The role is expected to last 6 months but will likely be extended.
Your role will involve the management of assigned C & I design projects through the design stage to handover to production, observing the need to apply cost effective solutions and ensuring costs are controlled within estimates provided at the tendering stage. You will be responsible for all the preparation and issue of C&I (Control & instrumentation) related documentation including P&I (Piping & Instrumentation) Diagrams, wiring schematics and control diagrams/narratives, together with the specification and requisition electrical and C&I (Control & instrumentation) equipment, all in line with design, manufacture, and customer requirements.
Ideally you will hold an HNC or equivalent in electrical or electronic engineering with a good understanding of LV / MV electrical systems. Experience of controls and instrumentation, application and product selection and knowledge of control system design and instrument interface of rotating machinery would be beneficial. Strong IT skills and proficient CAD user, AutoCAD &/or EPLAN preferred
