Your new company
A well established multi-site group has a vacancy for an Accountant to support the Leadership team and report into the Group FC.
Your new role
To provide wide-ranging support and assistance to the Group Financial Controller, preparing reports, financial accounts and statutory returns in accordance with established practices and reporting deadlines. It is the Group Head office cost centre. Holding company accounts. It holds investments in the trading divisions and loans in the parent company, and internal rentals with the divisions. Cross charges and inter company accounting. Statutory accounts for the group and holding company.
- Assist with month end accounts preparation including journals for Head Office and Motus Holdings
- Reconciliation of key control accounts, fixed assets, bank, debtors, creditors etc.
- Production of monthly reports
- Authorisation/code checking of HO invoices
- Management of the Vodafone contract
- Sustainability reporting
- Assist with external payments and internal transfers
- Tagetik system uploads
- Assistance with statutory accounts, corporation tax and audit compliance
- Assistance with annual planning (budgeting and forecasting)
- Provide support during the year-end
- Assistance with general head office enquiries
- Ad hoc reporting / tasks as necessary
What you'll need to succeed
- Head office accounting experience is desirable, but not essential.
- Part qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or QBE
- Excellent Technical Accounting skills
- Accuracy in work
- Good excel skills (Key competency),
- Data management skills
- Strong systems skills
- Confident communicator with good email/telephone manner
- Ability to work effectively, independently, or as part of a team
- Ability to problem solve.
- Full UK driving licence
