We are currently recruiting for RAS Technicians for our Freshwater Recirculation Unit located in Barcaldine, Argyll.
The Technician role is crucial to our success, ensuring the best management of our superior quality Scottish salmon by monitoring fish health, welfare and protection measures whilst maintaining the operational efficiency and safety standards.
Ideally, you should have at least 1-year practical experience in fish husbandry or equivalent role with a good knowledge of fish welfare and water chemistry. You must also be able to complete tasks in a professional manner adherent to strict health and safety requirements and practice good housekeeping throughout all activities.
Alternatively, if you are a new graduate, a school leaver or simply eager to learn new skills and be part of the growth and investment of our Barcaldine Hatchery, then we have an exciting opportunity arising to train as a RAS technician and gain experience and knowledge in this new and innovative area of aquaculture.
Key requirements would be a willingness to learn, good communication skills as well as collaborating as part of our close-knit team where high standards of fish welfare is at the heart of our goals.
ABOUT THE PACKAGE
We offer a competitive salary, overtime payable at 1.5 times normal rate of pay for any additional hours worked Monday-Friday, weekend payments are payable at the rate of £309 per full weekend worked. .
