We have a vacancy for a Locum GP post starting in September 2024 for 4 - 6 sessions a week. This is an excellent opportunity for doctors wishing to practice high quality family medicine with an emphasis on continuity of care. Expanding practice currently 21,100 patients, 15 GPs. (15% dispensing) GP owned purpose built health centre opened March 2012 Training practice with two trainers and undergraduate teaching Engage Digital Triage led appointments system. We provide 15 minute GP appointments with allocated daily admin time, using EMIS Web. Outstanding CQC rating and100% QOF achievement 2019 We hold regular clinical meetings and run mentor scheme for those new to the practice. Supportive MDT with prescribing nurse/ECP led minor illness clinics and clinical pharmacist clinics Adjacent community hospital, minor injuries unit and radiology and Emergency Medical Unit NHS Endoscopy, ultrasound, echocardiography on site Significant involvement in Primary Care Research. No out of hours commitment Part of an active PCN with GP access hub providing a home visiting service (Paramedic can perform urgent on the day visits) First line management of documents is provided by trained practice assistants to reduce GP admin, as well as a team of GP Assistants and Care co-ordinators who work alongside our GPs. Clinical Responsibilities: - In accordance with the Practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make him/her-self available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork, reports and correspondence in a timely fashion. Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation. Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems. Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness. In consultation with patients and in line with current Practice disease management protocols, developing care plans for health. Providing counselling and health education. Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards. Collecting data for audit purposes and complying with QOF requirements. Delivering enhanced services. Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions. Prescribing in accordance with the Practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate
