Are you a skilled, innovative and motivated pharmacy technician?

This exciting role provides a great opportunity to enhance your knowledge of the clinical use and commissioning of specialist drugs, as well as develop your knowledge and skills relating to service review and development and project management.

To manage the maintenance and development of homecare services in line with national standards and guidelines and local policy and procedures.

To manage the service review meetings with homecare providers.

To line manage homecare administrative staff. To be responsible for training and supporting other staff with respect to homecare medicines management.

To deliver cost effective use of medicines, specifically PbR (Payment by Results) excluded drugs.

To prepare and deliver education and training to pharmacy, medical and nursing staff to support the appropriate use of PbR excluded drugs, specifically related to those delivered via a homecare service.

To act as a ‘superuser’ of the Blueteq system, maintaining systems and providing training and information to pharmacy, medical and nursing staff.

To participate in the management and control of FP10HNC prescription forms in pharmacy.

To deputise for the Associate Director of Pharmacy – Support Services as required in matters relating to homecare services.

Duties to include but not be limited to:
• Communicates all relevant information and advice to the pharmacy, nursing and medical teams; patients and service users; and to external/third party organisations as required.
• Communicates in a professional and timely manner.
• Always maintains confidentiality and communicates in line with relevant legislation, policies and procedures
• Responsible for providing a safe and high quality homecare service in line with theProfessional Standards for Homecare Services in England (Royal Pharmaceutical Society)and the recommendations borne out of theHomecare Medicines-Towards a Vision for the Future 2011report (Hackett report)
• Delivers cost effective use of medicines, specifically PbR excluded drugs delivered via homecare services.
• Ensures effective utilisation of staff, completing skill mix and role reviews to assure appropriate deployment of people and skills.
• Responsible as a Blueteq ‘superuser’, ensuring correct use for all current treatments which require formal prior approval using the Blueteq system.
• To participate in the management and control of FP10HNC prescription forms in pharmacy
