Location: Thanet
Job Type: Temporary until October
Hours: 37 per week
Rate of Pay: £11.58
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Cemeteries and Crematorium Operatives to join the team at the local Crematorium & Cemeteries.
As a Cemeteries and Crematorium Operative, you will be responsible for maintaining the grounds of our cemeteries and crematoriums to the highest standards. You will work both independently and as part of a team to carry out ground's maintenance tasks, ensuring that the grounds are clean, safe & attractive outside environment for residents and visitors.
A full clean driving licence is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform grounds maintenance tasks such as grass cutting, strimming, and hedge cutting using power tools and sit on mowers across Margate & Ramsgate Cemeteries.
- Work independently or as part of a team to ensure that the grounds are well-maintained
- Conduct daily maintenance checks to ensure that equipment is in good working order
- Act and always operate any equipment in accordance with Health and Safety requirements.
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness throughout the cemeteries and crematoriums
- Undertake any other duties, which may be reasonably required.
Requirements:
- Experience in using petrol strimmers, ride on mower (triple, rotary & stand rotary) hedge trimmers and general ground maintenance.
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to work
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to grounds maintenance
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a sensitive and respectful manner
