The role
As a Driver / Handler, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You'll ensure the provision of professional driving for all nominated tasks as required to meet or exceed customer expectations and LAFT2 contractual needs at all times.
Day-to-day, you'll carry out ground handling and movement of aircraft, flight line operations, refuelling aircraft, aircraft cleaning, general duties as required and carry out Check A Maintenance.
Control all vehicle related administration within VOSA/RAFMT/DGSA and Babcock guidelines.
Ensure all aspects of the MT contract are fulfilled within the required time frames and budget.
Ensure all licenses, medicals and competencies are maintained. Communicate with the customer and the Site Manager daily to ensure possible contract failures are avoided.
This role is full time and is based on site at RAF Wittering.
Essential experience of the Driver / Handler:
- Experience of working within a military environment.
- Experience of handling aircraft in a military or civilian EASA Pt 145 environment.
- Working knowledge of transport and driver legal requirements.
- Familiar with military documentation
- Working knowledge of RAF/VOSA/DGSA and Babcock transport administration.
- Ability to demonstrate practical and theoretical standards required.
Qualifications for the Driver / Handler:
- PSV, LGV and ADR qualified.
- Clean driving licence.
- Grob 115 E Handling Course.
- Check A course.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain SC Clearance.
