Pay Rate: £14.66 per hour (PAYE)

End Date: 06/12/2024 (extended to 12 months)

Additional Information: Some weekend and bank holiday working required. Additional overtime and unsociable hours payable. Shift work (12 hours) over a 7-day week to include days and nights. Manual and automatic driving licence required – vehicle provided. 12-month work available to all successful candidates.

Job Description:
Swindon Borough Council is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Homeline Response Officer to join our Housing & Planning team. This role is crucial in supporting our elderly, vulnerable, and disabled residents, ensuring their safety and well-being through prompt response services.

Key Responsibilities:
Emergency Response: Provide immediate assistance to elderly, vulnerable, and disabled residents in response to emergency calls.
Technical Support: Use a common-sense approach to troubleshoot minor technical faults with Homeline equipment.
Health and Safety: Administer first aid as required (training will be provided if necessary).
Client Interaction: Maintain a high level of communication and support with residents, providing reassurance and assistance as needed.
Driving Duties: Operate a council-provided vehicle to reach residents' homes promptly. Both manual and automatic driving licenses are required.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all interactions and incidents in line with council policies and procedures.
Shift Work: Work 12-hour shifts over a 7-day week, including days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays.
Skills and Experience:
Care Experience: Background in care is advantageous, with experience working with elderly, vulnerable, and disabled individuals being essential.
Technical Aptitude: Ability to address minor technical issues with a practical approach.
First Aid: First Aid Certificate is preferred but not essential as training will be provided.
Driving License: Must hold a manual and automatic driving license.
Communication: Strong verbal communication skills with a compassionate and reassuring demeanor.
Flexibility: Willingness to work varied shifts, including nights and weekends.
