Surgical Admissions Lounge - Receptionist/Ward Clerk Band 2
This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for someone to join our team of admin and clerical staff working in the Surgical Admissions Lounge and to be the welcoming face of Theatres at Dorset County Hospital.
This is a permanent position based at Dorset County Hospital.
The post is part time hours and will primarily be based in the Surgical Admissions Lounge but as and when required by the needs of the service, the post holder will also cover the Day Surgery Units (both Weymouth and Dorchester).
The Surgical Admissions Lounge is the first port of call for patients coming to Main Theatres which consists of 7 Theatres, 4 in the North Wing Section of the Hospital as well as 4 Theatres in the East Wing section.
The Dorchester Day Surgery Unit consists of 2 theatres, adjacent ward areas and recovery area in Dorset County Hospital. In addition, there is a satellite unit in Weymouth comprising of one theatre and adjacent ward area with a separate recovery area as well as an Eye Day Case Ward area based in the East wing section of the Hospital.
The departments undertake a wide range of both day case and inpatient surgery on a daily basis.
Main tasks and responsibilities will be to collate, order and process patient records using hospital computer systems, provide support to patients, with a personal approach in the reception areas. The post holder will also be required to provide admin support to the nurses on the ward when required.
Applications would be welcomed with from individuals with IT/clerical skills or the willingness to develop these. Full in-house training and support will be given to the successful candidate.
