Payroll Officer
Morgan Hunt is working with a College in North London who are looking at recruiting a Payroll Officer. This is a 3 month contract role paying up to £22 p/hour and will be based in the office 5 days p/week.
Key Responsibilities of the Payroll Officer:
- Manage all aspects of payroll administration, including pensions and expenses, ensuring timely and accurate payment.
- Ensure compliance with statutory calculations (e.g., SMP, SSP) and payment of salaries, wages, and fees.
- Calculate and implement pay awards, and handle pay queries efficiently, monitoring and reporting monthly.
- Review payroll office systems and procedures for integrity and security and liaise with auditors.
- Act as system administrator for the payroll system, managing upgrades and issues with the supplier.
- Administer employee benefit schemes and collaborate with the Pension Administrator on pension matters.
Previous Skills and Experience of the Payroll Officer:
- Working within a payroll environment in an education organisation.
- Computerised payroll systems - SFP World Service is ideal.
- Knowledge of pensions.
- Payroll qualification is ideal.
- Holding an enhanced DBS is ideal.
