Happiest at Home provides dedicated, personal home care assistance to clients, to enable them to have an excellent quality of life in their own home. You will be seeing the same client every week.
The Client
The client is a lovely 68-year-old gentleman with an acquired brain injury and Parkinsons'.
He lives alone but his brother and sister-in-law live nearby and visit a few times a week.
The client was in a car accident many years ago, which caused his BI. He has left side weakness, visual impairment in the right eye and is deaf in his left ear.
The client used to enjoy fishing, going for meals and socialising, but hasn’t been able to do that as much now as his current care team can’t accommodate his needs.
He loves a good hearty meal, so good cooks are an absolute must, but we do have to be mindful of his diet, as he’s on a weight loss journey but would eat a Sunday dinner daily if he could.
He uses a zimmer frame in the house and a wheelchair in the community.
The client is looking for assistance with personal care, prep meals, companionship and help gain access to the local community.
The family and the client are looking to build a team of CarePals that can nurture the client and keep him bubbly! He loves a hearty meal and a good chat, as he still has capacity and just wants to feel like he has a bigger family unit around him, and his family have some respite.
The schedule for this position is:
Saturdays - 08:30-12:30
Total - 4 hours available
