We are looking for a versatile Database Developer/Architect with a strong background in data science and analytics to join our team. This role requires a unique blend of skills in database design, cloud computing, and data analysis. The ideal candidate will design and optimize our database systems, develop data-driven insights, and implement advanced analytics solutions using cloud platforms, particularly AWS.
Key Responsibilities:
Database Design and Architecture: Develop and maintain robust, scalable database architectures, with a focus on cloud technologies such as AWS RDS, Redshift, and S3.
Data Integration and ETL: Design and manage ETL processes to efficiently extract, transform, and load data from various sources, integrating it into our data warehouse for analysis.
Data Analysis and Insights: Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to develop models, dashboards, and reports that provide actionable insights. Utilize statistical and machine learning techniques to analyze large datasets.
Performance Optimization: Optimize database performance through tuning, indexing, and query optimization. Ensure high availability and reliability of data systems.
Advanced Analytics: Implement and support advanced analytics solutions, including predictive modeling, machine learning pipelines, and data visualization tools.
Data Security and Compliance: Ensure the security and compliance of data, implementing best practices for data encryption, access controls, and data governance.
Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software developers, business analysts, and data scientists, to understand data needs and deliver effective solutions.
Documentation and Best Practices: Create and maintain documentation for database schemas, data models, ETL processes, and analytics methodologies. Advocate for data management best practices.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
Experience: 6 years of experience in database development or architecture, with significant exposure to data science and analytics.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL, Python, and cloud-based database systems (e.g., AWS RDS, Redshift). Experience with data analytics tools such as Power BI
Data Science Skills: Knowledge of machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, Scikit-learn) and statistical analysis. Experience with big data technologies like Hadoop or Spark is a plus.
Cloud Skills: Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS, including services like EC2, Lambda, and IAM.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex datasets and provide actionable insights.
Communication: Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Additional Skills: Familiarity with NoSQL databases and data warehousing concepts. Experience with data governance and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR) is advantageous.
