About the Role

Base Location: Peterhead Power Station, Aberdeenshire

Salary: £28,072 - £32,605 + shift allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, and wellbeing.

Working Pattern: Full Time | Permanent | Shift Rota

SSE Thermal are recruiting for a Plant Operator to join our team based at Peterhead Power Station. The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking operational duties on a range of plant equipment, monitoring its operation and condition as required to meet production requirements in line with safety, environmental and company standards.

Key Responsibilities:

- Undertake pre-start checks on plant after outages and maintenance as well as routine plant checks, ensuring all safety and environmental aspects are addressed before operation.

- Local operation of plant in accordance with operational instructions, noting and responding effectively to plant status changes.

- Undertake plant condition monitoring, fault diagnosis and accurate defect reporting on operated plant.

- Complete all work in compliance with the safe systems of work.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Relevant technical plant operator qualifications such as NVQ with previous industrial experience.

- Working knowledge of environmental permit requirements.

- Commitment to safe working practices, demonstrating the Company Values in all activities.

- Good interpersonal skills with colleagues and the ability to work as part of a team.
