Summary

Directing a team of 2 Flight Planning Specialists and one Duty Operations Specialist, you will ensure that all staff work is completed accurately and efficiently, guiding junior staff to enable them to provide the best possible service to both RAF Coningsby and visiting military/civilian aircrew.


Following appointment to the training team, you will carry out the on-the-job training of both ab-initio and experienced members of staff, enabling them to reach validation standard within approved timescales. There will also be the opportunity to be selected IC Aerospace Operations Specialist (ASOS) Assurance or IC ASOS training. Both roles involve the overseeing of the respective areas including planning assurance/training timetables.



Following selection to the Assurance Team, you will carry out initial validation of both military and civilian personnel to ensure that they are working to the required standard to achieve initial validation and re-validate all personnel annually, completing all documentation accurately and within required timescales.



Other duties include:



Carrying out notification procedures for aircraft emergencies and incidents and ensuring that the Crisis Management Centre is established to support Emergency Service management.
In consultation with the Duty Operations Controller (DOC), book and promulgate diversions.
Monitor current and forecast weather to pre-empt likely changes.
Publish the Station Recovery State, action any changes and notify affected parties
Process booking requests and issue approval for civil and military ac visiting the station.
Ensure that Notice to Aviators (NOTAMS) are added to the Typhoon Advanced Mission Planning Aid (TyAMPA) and have been entered accurately.
Gain approval for armed aircraft diversion requests to and from Coningsby.
