In this role you will:

Receive and deal with incoming mail and telephone calls, and ensure communications are distributed to appropriate individuals as necessary.
Provide full administrative and typing support to the Licensing Team including the preparation of reports and correspondence when required using the facilities of M.S Office.
Preparation, maintenance and updating of computerised records relating to licensed premises and licensees by the use of InnKeeper.
Carry out preliminary checks on prospective licensees and other individuals as required by the Licensing Officer
Write to problem premises management and invite licensee to attend the police station for a meeting – prepare, arrange and attend meetings, and complete records as required.
To be the single point of contact for pedlar enquiries and facilitate the required procedures for applicants, including checking PNC and residency checks.
Assist with the scanning, recording into Innkeeper and reporting of relevant incidents as directed by the Licensing Officer(s).
Collate and review Temporary Event Notices (TENS), complete basic enquiries upon receipt of TENS and ensure responses within statutory time limits and based on threat, risk harm and refer any potential issues to the Licensing Officer.
Undertake other duties appropriate to the grade and character of work as may be reasonably required, including specific duties of a similar or lesser graded post.
Skills & Experience
The following essential skills, knowledge and behaviours are required for this role:

Effective time management and prioritisation skills in order to ensure that their workload is managed to meet timescales,
Good interpersonal skills to be able to negotiate with both internal and external persons and deal courteously with enquiries,
Good keyboard skills and competent in the use of Information Technology in particular Microsoft Office suite of products (specifically Word and Excel),
The ability to quickly assimilate a reasonable working knowledge of Licensing policies and practices and understand interpret legislation and guidance,
The Ability to work effectively as a member of a team,
Understanding of confidentiality and Data Protection/Freedom of Information issues.
