About the role:
We are looking to recruit a Learning Environments Support (Library Services) to the Digital Education team during term time at our Reading Learning Environments.
Duties will include helping library users search the online catalogue and find resources and patrolling the space to ensure behaviour is managed. You will also issue, renew, reserve and return loans for students and staff and support the Learning Environments Assistant with other library tasks.
There will also be involvement in assisting faculty staff with our technology Enhance Learning spaces. As part of the Digital Education Services team, you will also be expected to promote Activate Learning’s Digital Strategy to all Learning Environment stakeholders. As such, you will need to possess a demonstrative enthusiasm for digital learning.
This is a permanent, part time role, working 4 hours per week on Tuesdays, and based onsite at our Reading campus.
What do you need to be successful at Activate Learning?
You will have experience in a customer service environment, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to demonstrate effective professional relationships with colleagues, learners and the wider community. A flexible and team-based approach is essential, as is a firm, pragmatic and student-centred approach to behaviour management.
You will have strong IT skills and be enthusiastic about the opportunity to apply learning technologies to the development of new and novel approaches to the provision of academic skills support in an increasingly digital student environment.
You will also have experience in a customer service environment, within education, and/or experience in library services.
