The Valuation Assurance Team is responsible for internal valuation quality and assurance controls, escalation and issues handling. It sits within Property Professional Services (PPS) and provides assurance that the Agency delivers sound and reliable valuations and meets both internal and professional standards.
Head of Valuation Assurance – Role Overview
This is a fantastic opportunity to join the senior leadership team of the Property Professional Services directorate. This is an exciting time to join the Agency, with new technology being developed and implemented to revolutionise the way properties are valued and communicated to our clients and customers. You will play a leading role in the implementation of a new Quality Strategy for the Agency that will improve our data, the quality of our valuations and the way these are communicated to our customers.
As Head of the Valuation Assurance Team, you will be responsible for leading on internal valuation quality and assurance controls, escalation and issues handling. You will provide assurance to the Executive Committee and external stakeholders that the Agency delivers sound and reliable valuations and meets professional standards. You will lead on identifying and delivering quality improvements by working in collaboration with the Agency’s operational delivery business areas.
This is pivotal role requiring strategic leadership across the Agency collaborating with professional bodies and the wider government property profession.
Head of Valuation Assurance – Key responsibilities
You will support both the Director of Property Professional Services and all other Operational Directorates by leading and developing Valuation Assurance activity within the Agency. This is a pivotal role requiring strategic leadership across the Agency collaborating with professional bodies, other government departments and the wider government property profession.
The role holder will also be responsible for the following:
- Delivery of our internal valuation quality and assurance controls and measures, escalation and issue handling systems and learning from outcomes.
- Providing assurance that the VOA is delivering sound and reliable valuations and meeting professional standards.
- Leading valuation integrity assurance reviews of completed casework and reporting into operational directors, the Agency’s performance hubs and Annual Report and Accounts.
- Aligning first and second lines of assurance to promote consistent quality standards.
- A leading role in the Agency’s Quality Strategy Implementation project
- Collaborating with other senior leaders to identify actions, process changes, learning gaps and opportunities for quality coaching to support sustained improvement across the organisation.
- Ensuring Directors are sighted on emerging risks and issues early to enable the Agency to support the appropriate handling of the case through leadership of the Agency’s escalation procedures.
- Identifying areas of quality risk and delivering bespoke assurance reviews to provide options and recommendations for improvement.
