BAACS Building Management Coordinator (BMC)
An opportunity to join an experienced, versatile team, delivering first class administration services to our world class Armed Forces personnel.
Position Overview
The role of the BAACs The Building Management Coordinator (BMC) role is to assist the Commanding Officer, the 4C's Appointed Duty Holder (the First Lieutenant) and Manager (SHEF) in discharging their legal responsibilities for management of the BRNC infrastructure and estate ensuring compliance with applicable legislation and MOD Policy.
The post holder will be responsible for maintaining the relevant databases involved with the material state of buildings on the BRNC sate, Dartmouth.
Main Responsibilities
-Monitoring/Inspecting areas for which they are responsible, reporting and tracking defects that are identified, including maintaining a register of defects and presenting the register at Commanders Rounds
-To act as the focal point for the day-to-day management and the reporting of defects of the building infrastructure.
-Assist in reporting any snow and ice clearance requirements to the RPC/Tier One Services Provider
-To assist with the mail room, issuing parcels and recording parcels correctly, liaising with mail couriers and ensuring details are logged correctly.
-To check first aid boxes and portable fire appliance during monthly walk around, reporting any problems to the H&S manager.
-To liaise with both building occupants and the establishments security officer (or equivalent) to aid in the resolution of any issues of security furniture and security furniture keys.
-Where requested to advise visitors and contractors of specific requirements and restrictions in relation to buildings, and surrounding areas.
-To attend weekly captains' rounds
-Ensure all activities are carried out in full compliance with current Health and Safety Regulations, Copy Right and the General Data Protection Regulations.
-Undertake any additional tasks as determined by the Line Manager.

The successful candidate will be well-organised, precise, confident with credible communication skills readily able and willing to contribute at all levels. In addition, the individual will be versatile, intuitive, and professional with good judgement and absolute integrity. Pro-active and persuasive when required and responsive to changing needs of the business and demands of the customer, while remaining calm under pressure and self-motivated, the incumbent will be reliable and well presented, giving a positive image of MITIE company values. In addition, the following is needed.
-Excellent organisational skills, with strong customer service skills.
-A strong team player and able to use own initiative.
-Credible verbal and written communicator with the ability to develop close working relationships.
-IT literate with a good working knowledge of MS Office applications and the ability to learn new software systems.
Additional Information
MOD security clearance and DBS Standard required. To meet national security vetting requirements, you will normally need to have been resident in the UK for at least 3 years to gain a Counter Terrorist Check, 5 years for Security Clearance and 10 years for Developed Vetting prior to the date of application. All Developed Vetted posts are required to be UK Nationals.
Proof of right to work in UK essential
The Contract operates a 37.5 hour working week between the hours of 0730 and 1700 Mon to Fri only.
Required to wear approved company work wear.
