Summary

This is a great opportunity to join the DCMS Security Team, our work is an integral aspect of the corporate function and is accountable to the Permanent Secretary as Accounting Officer and the Director General (Performance and Strategy) as Chief Security Officer.

The team is responsible for the protection of DCMS assets aligning the strategic, advisory and operational aspects of security covering Physical, Personnel, Communication Information Systems (CIS), Investigations, Information leaks, Security Breaches, Risk assessments (UK/Overseas), Incident Management (including Business Continuity) and Behavioural education and Awareness enabling departmental functionality.

As part of your role, you will be expected to:

  • Be the Principal Subject Matter Expert (PSME) and owner within DCMS for Business Continuity, Incident Management and Disaster Recovery.
  • You will provide the leadership and will have the communication skills to ensure Incident & Crisis management, Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery meet Government Standards (GovSec: 007), are understood, and adopted across the organisation and integrated into our people, systems, and data.
  • You will coordinate internal and external resources as and when needed to investigate problems, implement solutions, and take preventative measures to ensure the office maintains continuity of service.
  • You will work with the Commercial team to ensure that Incident & Crisis management, Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery requirements are embedded in their procurement processes as necessary and act as the escalation point for any required risk management.
  • You will support the Digital and Technology Directorate in the prevention of disruption and proactive Incident & Crisis management, Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery.
  • You will collaborate with the Incident Response Team by providing expert advice for major incidents.
  • You will lead the offices Incident & Crisis management, Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery exercise programme.
