The team is embarking on a key and exciting strategic transitional cybersecurity programme that signifies a commitment to improving maturity in the realm of digital protection. This programme is designed to enhance the organisation’s resilience against cyber threats, fortify its digital infrastructure, and safeguard its valuable data assets.
The journey is marked by continuous learning, adaptation, and improvement, reflecting the dynamic nature of the cybersecurity landscape. This transition will not only strengthen the organisation’s defence mechanisms but will also foster a culture of security awareness and responsibility.
Ultimately, this cybersecurity programme will serve as a critical step towards achieving a higher level of security maturity, ensuring Lincolnshire County Council’s digital integrity in an increasingly interconnected world. About the role
The primary purpose of this role is to play an active part in ensuring that appropriate cyber security in is place and remains effective in protecting our systems and the data entrusted to it by our residents. This role is vital in defining, identifying and specifying security policies, procedures, risk management approaches and governance.
About you
You'll possess a mix of technical skills and knowledge, together with an ability to communicate effectively and develop good working relationships with internal colleagues, contractors and third party suppliers. You'll be business and solutions focussed and hold a BSc (or equivalent qualification), or be able to demonstrate equivalent industry experience. You'll hold relevant certifications and have a working knowledge of security issues relating to hardware and software. You'll also be keen to develop your knowledge and skills in a supportive environment.
Location
The team work on a hybrid basis, spending time working from home and in our Lincoln office collaborating. What matters to us is your output; the working pattern is flexible and will be agreed with the successful applicant.

You will be given a nominated contractual work base and you will be required to commute to this work base when necessary.
